Commenting (and daily activities)

2008 January 3

I rarely check the comments that people get on their weblogs. What’s the point, really? What do you say when reading an entry? Sure, if someone writes something completely brilliant/subversive then it deserves a good pat on the back. Otherwise? It could be just me, though. Most things are. Perhaps I will attempt to comment on people’s blogs today. Yes, perhaps I will.

Today was a day in Connecticut. Last evening I received a wonderful new toy, which promptly broke. In the hopes of salvaging my new DOA Toaster, I called its manufacturer who seemed willing to replace the device, but I would have to pay for shipping = not happening. Thus once the sun arose today I made a call to the vendor, who was far more accommodating and emailed me a return packing slip, and promised to send a new product. It had better work, because my hunger for having 1TB of external storage must be sated!

Moving on.

I then attempted to bring an old (read: 1998) computer to the Good Will…. To do with as they pleased. However, I was informed that due to the influx of crap they received after Christmas, that they could not accept my gift. I simply do not know how to respond to this and so I won’t. After this, I was informed by my boyfriend (and supposed tech master) that I should destroy or otherwise malign the hard drive in said computer because prying eyes might try to read the data on it.

After sighing, I brought the computer inside, chipped a piece of wall-molding, which will surely be sighted by father (even though I painted the chip), and then proceeded to remove the hard drive. I was only to find however, that while the drive was encased in bulletproof steel, the screws holding it together were made by disgruntled workers in Romania. After stripping said screws there was only one option: destruction. Sadly I do not possess a camera at this time to show you the damage, but suffice it to say the hammer eventually won (note: I will take a photograph on my mobile telephone and post it at an unspecified date in the future).

More moving on.

I later ran into a friend from elementary school. She’s a good girl but she wants a family- and soon. Perhaps it’s my selfishness. Perhaps it’s my faggotry. I cannot say. Kids at 24 isn’t my idea of a party.

Final word: Dear friends in Iowa, I consider your fare state to be the encapsulation of America. You possess a great university system, agrarian roots, and are located at the crossroads of our great land. Please think carefully tonight. Please? (note: this message in no way endorses any candidate for either GOP or Democratic party even though I am a complete partisan with strong allegiances to one particular candidate. Thank you.)
